Peter Donaldson, M.D.

Sports Medicine

Peter Donaldson, M.D. is board certified in sports medicine and emergency medicine. He specializes in sports related injuries and sees athletes and active individuals of all ages.

Following undergraduate studies at Boston College and Oxford University in England, Dr. Donaldson earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He then served as assistant chief of the division of emergency medicine at Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine. He returned to metropolitan Detroit where he completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Providence Hospital.

Dr. Donaldson has worked as a team physician for the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Oakland University, Madonna University, the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League, as well as several local area high schools and has covered numerous sporting events.

Dr. Donaldson is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the Sports Medicine Section of the American College of Emergency Medicine.

He is on staff at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Troy.
