Harry N. Herkowitz, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and specializes in the surgical management of spinal disorders affecting the neck and back.
A graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Dr. Herkowitz completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He also completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.
At William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Dr. Herkowitz is chairman of the Orthopedic Surgery department. He is director of spine surgery, co-director of the spinal surgery fellowship program and co-director of the Center of Spinal Disease and Spinal Surgery at Beaumont.
Dr. Herkowitz is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the American Orthopedic Association, Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, American Medical Association, Mid-American Orthopedic Association, Michigan Orthopedic Society, Michigan State Medical Society and the Oakland County Medical Society. His subspecialty affiliations include the Cervical Spine Research Society, International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine, North American Spine Association, Spine Study Group and the Clinical Study Group on Spinal Fixation. Dr. Herkowitz is a director of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
