Eeric Truumees, M.D.

Orthopaedic Surgery

Eeric Truumees, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery specializing in orthopedic surgery and he has a special interest in adult and pediatric spine disorders, reconstructive surgery of the neck and back, orthopedic trauma and scoliosis.

A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. In addition, he completed a fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak in adult and pediatric spine surgery.

Dr. Truumees is a member of the Spine Study Group, Michigan Medical Society, Detroit Orthopedic Society, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, North American Spine Society and Alpha Omega Alpha, medical honor society. He has written numerous articles and book chapters on the subject of disorders of the spine, and is actively engaged in spinal research. He is an advising editor of the journal Spine. Dr. Truumees has also been named by Hour Magazine as one of the top doctors in 2003. He lectures frequently in spine and trauma topics. He teaches medical students, residents and spine surgery fellows. Dr. Truumees is on the adjunct faculty of the Bioengineering Center at Wayne State University.
